What is SFC Sublimation?
SFC sublimation employs a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye to fabric. Solid colors or highly detailed images are printed with dye-sublimation inks on to specialized transfer paper. Under extreme heat and pressure, the paper is rolled out together meeting the desired fabric for the final garment. Heat releases the dye from the paper thus fusing it with the fabric.
The end result is fabric colored with highly detailed images and vibrant colors. Unlike screen printing, where ink sets on top of the fabric, sublimated inks become part of the fabric and cannot be felt by the hand.
Sublimation Benefits:
• Highly detailed photographic images can be printed on fabrics that can be manufactured into garments such as athletic uniforms.
• The images have no bounds. Unlike screen printing where your image is bound by the dimensions of the screen, sublimation prints the entire roll of fabric. The garment's "pattern" is then cut from the roll of fabric resulting in garments with "all-over" graphics.
